Dear PC Readers:
Welcome back to my channel!
This week is the start of the study week. We need to complete these two PRs of Release 0.2 by this weekend. So this week I chose to do something in new language again. I have the opportunity to explore the new world and I am taking it. I am going to utilize this to try out new languages and open source world.
This week I went ahead to try something in Vue. I have never touched this language in my life, this is similar to React, Javascript I know, but let us see what I did. I started by searching for a good repo with a good issue. I added the labels of good first issue and hacktoberfest to find a good issue. I stumbled upon this issue, which was made for new contributors like me, for trying out in Hacktoberfest I think. I picked that up, left a comment that I would like to work on it, after I made sure that I would be able to do it.
I forked the repo and cloned it. I downloaded and installed the repo by downloading yarn, vue and other node modules. I used the issue number to make a branch issue-9 and started working on the requirements. The required work was to add a banner/button to direct to the Hacktoberfest 2020 page on a new tab only. I saw some tutorials about Vue, how it works, how I would add the new button. I added the button with the function in the script tag but it was not working properly. So I changed my approach and added a new component called Button-to and added the Button.vue file; this would make the code more modularized, easy to change in the future.
I added the link for the hacktoberfest home page. "_blank" would make sure that the link is opening in a new tab. I then added the files, made a commit, and pushed it to my branch and made a PR, linking the issue number to it. I am waiting for the reviewer to comment on it, if he needs anything else.
Overall, I learnt a lot from this PR, a new language, a new world of open source. Every week I am trying new things which I would have never touched. Thanks for these lessons and I am very glad that I took this class, a lot of work but good to learn.

See you next week, enjoy the study week!
